Student Chaplaincy
As Christ is at the heart of our school, so too is Student Chaplaincy. Student Chaplaincy Ambassadors represent all year groups and regularly meet together to pray, reflect, plan and evaluate the liturgical and prayer life of the school, reflecting the quality of relationships across the saints and year groups. Chaplaincy also forms one of our Student Parliament committees, which enables time and space to be dedicated to developing the spiritual and moral development of students. Chaplaincy really is a joyful group to be a part of! The enthusiasm and support shown to one another and to all, reflects our shared belief that Christ is present in every person.
Liturgy Ambassadors
Our Liturgy Ambassadors are committed to the planning, leading and evaluation of liturgical worship across the school.
Prayer Ambassadors
Our Prayer Ambassadors work to enhance and lead the prayer life of our school community.
Faith in Action Ambassadors
Our Faith in Action Ambassadors strive to live out Christ’s example in the school, local and global community.
Justice and Peace Ambassadors
Our Justice and Peace Ambassadors are committed to standing in solidarity with those whose voices are less heard.
Parish Ambassadors
Our Parish Ambassadors forge links between our school and the parish communities across the deanery … and beyond!
Liturgical Music Ambassadors
Our Liturgical Music Ambassadors collectively lead our school community in worship, creating a sense of unity and community and bringing us all closer to God as our hearts respond to his call.
The Chaplaincy Ambassadors also work together with members of our extended school community. Examples include the Chaplaincy Day with our Catholic feeder primary schools and their participation in our own school Mission Day, where they helped to form our new school Mission Statement.
I feel that being a Chaplaincy Ambassador at the Saint John Henry Newman School is a great opportunity to get involved with. I have really enjoyed getting involved with all of the different elements of Chaplaincy as they all serve a purpose to make the school a better place. I enjoy working in a team where everyone has the same passion and common goal. I became a Chaplaincy Ambassador in Year 7 and have loved it ever since. I look forward to in the future doing more work within the Chaplaincy team. Ryan, Year 8.
